UK & Ireland HQ moving to Stockport

The UK and Ireland HQ and the R&D centre in Birch Vale are set to take up residence in a state-of-the-art business park in Stockport, Greater Manchester following the expected completion of the development in spring 2020.

The Cheadle Royal Business Park - a £175m development delivered by national urban regeneration and development specialists, Muse Developments – is close to major national and international transport links such as Manchester Airport, offering Dow the connections it needs.

Dow has pre-let a two-floor, 26,037 sq. ft. self-contained unit to house its national management team, technical and sales office, as well as a product research and development (R&D) facility.

The office, which is set in mature parkland, will benefit from access to a range of on-site amenities, including shops, bars, restaurants and health facilities.

The announcement follows the decision to relocate from the previous headquarters at Diamond House in Staines, and subsequent changes to business structures in the UK and Ireland following the DowDuPont merger.

“Colleagues know that reaching this point has not been an easy journey for us due to circumstances beyond our control, which is why I’m really pleased to announce this investment in our future in the UKI region,” said Andrew Jones, President UK & Ireland.

“I would like to thank everyone for bearing with us over this period of change, and hope everyone is as eager as I am to settle in to these fantastic, purpose-built facilities at the heart of this vibrant, energetic region.”

The premises are well placed for Dow’s strong customer base in the North of England and will provide state-of-the-art facilities needed to support our continued growth. Fellow businesses already set to join Dow on the business park include Agilent Technologies, an analytical laboratory instrument manufacturing company, and international consumer products company, Jarden, which owns the Breville brand among many others.

A planning application for the development is due to be submitted to the local authority imminently, with construction anticipated to commence in spring 2019.
