Andrew Jones elected to CIA Board

Andrew Jones, President UK & Ireland*, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Chemical Industries Association (CIA), the organisation which represents and advises chemical and pharmaceutical companies across the UK.

The CIA Board takes a key role in deciding upon policy and approach, alongside various committees that specialise in specific areas. Major policy areas covered by the CIA range from climate change to energy, trade to economic growth and employment to chemicals management.

“I am delighted to be taking up this key role, particularly at a time when so much is at stake due to ongoing Brexit discussions and the changes this will mean for Dow and the industry as whole,” said Andrew Jones.

The organisation lobbies legislators, policy-makers and key stakeholders on the issues that affect its member companies the most, at UK, European and international level: membership not only gives Dow access to such lobbying opportunities but allows invaluable networking with industry colleagues and customers, many of whom are also members.

Andrew adds: “Not only does this position give Dow a seat at the table when the CIA is deciding on future policy, it also opens yet more doors in terms of access to key decision makers, and is a great way of ensuring that our voice is heard at the most influential levels.”

* In addition to his regional responsibilities, Andrew is Global Business Director for the Chlor-Alkali & Vinyl / PO PG businesses
